Individual Insolvency Search is one of the on-line searches under IPTO's eServices. It allows members of public to obtain Bankruptcy Information on individuals.

A search fee will be charged for each Search Result. A NIL RETURN will be taken as 1 Search Result as well.

Important:
Receiving the Search Results with a Receipt would generally indicates a Successful Payment Transaction for payment made using Direct Debit, since the payment amount is immediately deducted from your Direct Debit Account. However, for payment made using Credit Card, as the payment transactions need to be cleared by the Bank, receiving the Search Results with a Receipt may not necessarily mean that the payment amount would be received by IPTO. In the event that IPTO does not receive the payment amount, IPTO would inform you of the unsuccessful payment.

1. Your Search Criteria

1.1

You have to enter ONE of the search criteria.

1.1.1

Singapore NRIC No. (e.g. S1234567D) or other NRIC/Passport No.

When you search using a Singapore NRIC number, remember to put an "S" in front of the NRIC No. eg. S1234567A.

1.1.2

Bankruptcy No.

When you search using Bankruptcy Number, you can omit the leading zeroes of the Bankruptcy Number. For example, you can enter B /50/2001 instead of B /000050/2001. Of course, both are acceptable by the eService application.

1.1.3

Name

When you search using Name, you can choose the search option by selecting either 'Exactly', 'Starting-With' or 'Containing'. No commas, full-stops and brackets are allowed in the Name field.
 a.Exactly
   This option will search for an exact match of the Bankrupt name. There is no limit on the number of characters entered.
 b.Starting-With
   This option will search for Bankrupt names that starts with the given name. The minimum number of characters required is 8.
 c.Containing
   This option will search for Bankrupt names that contains the given name. The minimum number of characters required is 8.

1.1.4

Business Name

When you search using Business Name, you can choose the search option by selecting either 'Exactly', 'Starting-With' or 'Containing'. No commas, full-stops and brackets are allowed in the Business Name field.
 a.Exactly
   This option will search for an exact match of the Business name. There is no limit on the number of characters entered.
 b.Starting-With
   This option will search for Business names that starts with the given name. The minimum number of characters required is 15.
 c.Containing
   This option will search for Business names that contains the given name. The minimum number of characters required is 15.

After entering your search criteria, click on the [Search] button to continue.

2. Add to Your Search Cart

2.1

This page will display the number of results returned from the search.

2.2

If you wish to add this Search Result(s) to your Search Cart, click on "Yes". If you wish to discard the Search Result(s), click on "No".

2.3

Click on the [Continue] button to continue to view your Search Cart.

3. Your Search Cart

3.1

This page will display all the Search Criteria(s) that you have added to your Search Cart.

3.2

If you wish to continue with another search, click on the [Another Search] button and you will be directed to 'Your Search Criteria' page where you will be able to enter your next Search Criteria.

3.3

If you do not wish to continue with another search, select the Search Criteria(s) that you wish to view the results by clicking on the check boxes next to it.

3.4

You can click on the [Tick All] button if you wish to view the results of all the Search Criteria(s). To clear the check boxes, you can click on the [Clear All] button.

3.5

After selecting the Search Criteria(s), click on the [Proceed to Pay] button to continue.

4. Your Payment Confirmation

4.1

This page displays all the Search Criteria(s) that you have selected and the amount to pay.

4.2

An eSearch Number will be generated for your Search Transaction. Please quote this eSearch Number should you need to check with IPTO on a particular Search.

4.3

If all the Search Criteria(s) is correct, you can choose to pay by Credit Card or Direct Debit to continue with the payment transaction and you will proceed to the 'Payment Option Selection' page.

4.4

If you do not wish to proceed with the payment, click on the [Cancel] button to abort the whole transaction.

5. Payment Option Selection

5.1

6. Your Search Results & Receipt

6.1

Upon successful payment, you will see a summary of the selected Search Criteria(s) and the Search Results.

6.2

You can click on the [Print] button to print out the search results. Each search result will be printed on a new page.

6.3

A Receipt will be presented in another separate browser window. The Receipt will contain the Receipt Amount as well as a brief list of the key search details. Please quote the Receipt No. or EP Ref No. should you need to check with IPTO on this transaction.

6.4

Print out the Receipt as proof of successful payment of the Search Result(s). To print, do a right-click on any part of the receipt and a dialog box will appear. Click on 'Print'.

6.5

If you see the receipt and the search results, this indicates that your transaction has completed successfully.

6.6

A link to conduct a DRS Search will be displayed, if you received a NIL RETURN and if there is a matching in DRS Case with your search criteria.

6.7

Please note that for payment by Credit Card, in the event that the Credit Card payment amount is not duly received by IPTO, you will be informed by IPTO if the Credit Card deduction is not successful.

6.8

Close the browser window for the Receipt. To carry on with another transaction, click on the [NEW SEARCH] link on the search results page and you will be directed back to the page 'Your Search Criteria'. Otherwise, you can close the web browser.

6.9

7. Payment Failure

7.1

If the payment for the Search Result(s) is not successful, you will see this page.

7.2

To do a new search, click on the [OK] button and you will be directed back to the page 'Your Search Criteria'.
